2018:
7th International BCI Meeting Workshop @Asilomar, USA
Gernot R. Müller-Putz (TUG) and Rüdiger Rupp (UKL-HD) organized a workshop on “Non-invasive BCI-control of FES for grasp restoration in high spinal cord injured humans” at the 7th International BCI Meeting (23 May 2018). Here, the MoreGrasp project was presented and discussed intensively with the audience. 22 participants attended the workshop, which was disseminated by the BCI Society and also the MoreGrasp website and social media. The first 3 of the 5 talks were directly about the MoreGrasp project. The following talks were given:
- “State of the art in EEG-based decoding of grasping” by Gernot R. Müller-Putz (TUG)
- “State of the art in non-invasive motor neuroprostheses” by Rüdiger Rupp (UKL-HD)“Decoding movements of the upper limb for neuroprostheses control” by Joana Pereira (TUG
- “Portable BCI-FES for self-managed therapy in SCI patients” by Aleksandra Vuckovic (University of Glasgow, not within MoreGrasp project)
- “Future Concepts for non-invasive control” by Andreea Sburlea (TUG, not within MoreGrasp project)
The last part of the workshop consisted in a practical MoreGrasp FES neuroprostheses demonstration (UKL-HD) and general discussions with the audience. Figure 4 shows some photos taken during the workshop demonstration.
